Pieter (°1988) is one of Belgium’s most exciting young musicians. In 2009, he obtained the diploma “Bachelor in Music” from the Conservatory in Ghent, where he studied with Raf Minten. In october 2011 he got his master in music, with the highest distinctions, at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan, studying with Mario Marzi. He recently finished a postgraduate course with Lars Mlekusch at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. Currently he is enrolled in an advanced Master program for contemporary music at the Conservatory in Ghent.

Since 2010 he has been invited several times to play at the famous Opera House “Teatro alla Scala” with the “Filarmonica della Scala” and the “Orchestra del’Academia della Scala”. He has played under the baton of Daniel Harding, Dennis Russel Davies, Riccard Chailly and John Axelrod with soloists such as Lang Lang, Stefano Bollani and Herbie Hancock.

Pieter is passionate about contemporary music and has premiered over 30 new works by composers such as Heather Frasch, Alexander Kaiser, Pasquale Corrado, Maarten De Splenter, Michael Norris, Bram van Camp.

His projects include a duo with pianist Anastasia Kozhushko, Fivesax and V.Squad (experimental music ensemble) and the Amigo Saxophone Quartet.
