Xavier Larsson Paez, born 1991, began his studies of violin and saxophone in his hometown, Ciutadella de Menorca, Spain, and graduated in Saxophone with the Extraordinary Prize at the Conservatory of Liceu in Barcelona, Spain. Later, he studied a Master of Saxophone with the teacher Daniel Gauthier at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Germany.

Currently, he is studying for the Konzertexamen with Daniel Gauthier at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne where he also is studying a Master of Contemporary Music with the Saxophone quartet Fukio Ensamble with the teacher David Smeyers.

Xavier Larsson has won national and international competitions almost every year for the last 11 years: 1st prize in the II International Competition Lodz 2012 (Poland) 1st prize in the Concurso Permamente de Jovenes Interpretes of Jeunesses Musicales of Spain, 1st prize in the Certamen Nacional de Interpretacion Intercentros Melomano in the profesional category (Spain), and 2nd prize in the Primer Palau where he also obtained the Prize of the Critics (Spain).  He is prize winner of the prestigious competition III Jean Marie Londeix International Saxophone Competition (Thailand), and with the Fukio Ensemble won 1st prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Hochschulwettbewerb 2014 in Berlin. 

Xavier received a Wardwell scholarship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, a scholarship from Foundation Ferrer Salat and a scholarship from Agustí Pedro Pons Foundation.
